Open Question: Tattoo Apprenticeship? Advice or tips to improve tattoo style artwork?
I recently got a tattoo of a picture I drew myself. Just something special to me I put on paper. When I gave it to the artist he told me it was very good and asked if I could bring in more of my artwork sometime so I did. He really liked my work and asked if I had ever considered becoming a tattoo artist because I definately had potential. In truth I've thought about it but I'm worried I'm not good enough as well as time being an issue. I have heard that as an apprentice you're expected to work long hours whenever they want you to and you'd better show up. I have a daughter who starts kindergarden this fall so I don't know how that will affect it. My artist said he would take me on as an apprentice after I get my first aid CPR blood born pathogens etc classes done first. Any advice on how to improve my art like should I work in markers etc? Just any advice on how to get started before I actually apprentice? Thanks in advance!!
