Open Question: Can anyone help me with my daycare?
I love working with children. I have lots of experience, and I'm practically raising my niece. I'm only 16, but when I move in with my mother in a month, a friend and I are thinking about starting an in home day care. Not just over summer, since we're both home schooled, we can do it year round. I came up with mostly everything, I have a notebook full of games, arts & crafts activities, schedules, rates, and meal and snack ideas (hypo allergenic). To top it off, I've created fliers and contracts (for the parents) and sign in-out sheets, and all sorts of other things. We're going to start out in a Garage, and my fiance, my friend, her boyfriend and I are gonna fix up the garage and make it completely baby/toddler/child-proof. We're going to buy most of the furniture and other things off of craigslist. We're both going to get CPR certified, go to a first aid class, and take a babysitting course. I've been told we each could watch up to 8 kids each, so that's sixteen. I think I pretty much covered everything, but I'd like to know. Do I need more things? What else do I need to know? What else do I need to do? Any information at all will help. I don't even care if your giving me advice on our name, (which we have yet to come up with, we only have two ideas. B&T's Toddler Town and T&B's Helping Hands.) I plan on running a day care when I get older, but i figure since I'm having so much difficulty getting a job, and I'd rather work with children, anyway, so why not do this? Again, any information will help.
The contracts are just basically saying what we offer, our regulations, and a form in the begining with emergency contacts and allergy information.
