Open Question: How could I possibly gain entry into Oxbridge?

Firstly, I shall attempt to briefly explain my current situation along with my qualifications/grades, which, before you all tell me, I realise are not sufficient for gaining entry to Oxbridge. This is exactly why I have posed the question, 'how could I possibly gain entry into Oxbridge'??... I have just left a boys grammar school having completed my A-levels, I am predicted (in descending order) an A* in Film, an A in Media, a B in English, a B in Art and a C in AS History.* I know that Film and Media are frowned upon subjects by top universities, unfortunately I realised this towards the end of my A2 year! Anyway.. now ahead of me I have a gap year with the aim to gain qualifications, experience and to achieve various goals - however vague that may sound, to ultimately gain entry into Oxbridge. I don't need people to tell me that I'm dreaming, or that I have no chance whatsoever, I have had my fair share of that already, all I am looking for is some advice, (any advice or help would be so very much appreciated) that may give me a better chance. For instance, what about the Cambridge Pre-U, or Scholarships, or what about if I published my own novel or wrote for a magazine? I should probably tell you all that I am an aspiring writer looking to study English ;) Having thoroughly researched what the courses offer at both Cambridge and Oxford, and having been utterly enchanted, it is a dream of mine to study at one of them, however much of a cliche it is to dream of such heights. Once again, any help, advice or support would be much appreciated. Thank you.
