The Magic Arts -- Australia, 1978 -- Bruce Petty

Open Question: How do I tell her what I want to do?

So, I'm 13, and I have a whole summer to do stuff... Once I start something, I usually get bored of it. :/ She talks about how I should make jewelry, or knit something. I mean, I'll do that to make her happy. They talk about how they want to put my brother in Art Classes, and he seems to not care so much. I have a couple of ideas with PAINT. My brother brother is like a cartoonist. By the way, he's turning 11 next week.. He is in an Art Class at school, and I'm in band. He is the one mostly expected to achieve in art, and I'm a lazy person... My mom says like "Why don't you do something creative!" I always say most of the stuff I want to do cost money. My second choice would be making mini movies or photography. My first choice is painting... I have ideas in my head, and I just want to make it! I want to tell her I want to try painting, but for some reason, it's hard. I cry easily... Like if someone acusses me of a little thing like making a mistake in a game. I don't want to start crying when I tell her how I feel... Am I right to feel this way? What should I say? How can I do what I want to do? PLEASE help me here... So far, I'm spending my summer playing computer games. -_- My mom is frustrated with me, and I get it, I spend too much time on it.

Please help me here! I don't know what to do!

Resolved Question: How can I make a good impression at my new dance classes tomorrow?

I've been dancing since I was 6 yeas old, but with a very non-professional dance school doing street and only basic ballet. The only grades I've done are primary ones with ISTD in Disco, Freestyle and Rock 'n' Roll.
I'm going to college next year to do performing arts, and there's a really good dance studio nearby so I'm going to start doing classes there. I'm going to be doing Tap, Contemporary, Ballet, Musical Theatre and Hip Hop so I can increase my dance skills and dance styles. I'm a good dancer, but I'm not amazing yet and I have no idea what to expect from more serious classes. I'm worried that everyone there will have been doing ballet since they were like, three, and that people will laugh at me for being at a lower level. I really want to be a great dancer so I can have a better career in theatre, so I wondered if somebody could tell me how to make really good first impressions on my new class mates/ teachers.
Thnak you in advance :)

Open Question: CD 94 negative urine and blood test, hormone levels normal including prolactin?

I gave birth to a baby girl on the 9th of october 2011, i got my first af on the 1st of December, my second on the 1st of feb and my 3rd af on the 27th of march. I was breastfeeding last year but stopped this year due to lack of supply (duct problems), I have had no period since the 27th of march 2012 i have taken 3 urine pregnancy tests which were negative.

I had bloods drawn on the 9th of june to check my thyroid, hormone levels, prolactin, liver and blood count, according to my test i was in the middle of my cycle on the 9th of june. My bloods came back within normal level ranges except my prolactin was a little low, i had bloods taken again on the 14th of june to test for pcos, prolactin, hormone levels and a beta hcg.

The beta was negative and my hormone levels were within normal range again, and my prolactin was back to normal too. I guess the question is when should i expect af if i was in the middle of my cycle on the 9th of june? (my cycles before pregnancy were 35-37 days long) I'm so confused lol where art thou aunt flo?!

Open Question: What should I do about my crush?

I have liked this guy since the second semester of 8th grade, and now I'm going to be a junior in high school. We've had a lot of shared memories that are kind of long and hard to explain.

It's just that one day I looked at him and felt like, instantly attracted to him, like a magnet or something. That semester he moved to my lunch table and started talking to me more. I was totally intimidated by this mean girl who made me so sad later in 8th grade, and during that time he gave me a caramel and a hershey kiss two different days during lunch. He was also in my spanish class, and we sat next to each other during a class party and talked. In spanish he also dropped a pencil on the floor, and I trapped it with my foot so I could hand it to him myself.

In 9th grade we were both in the same math class, and I had no other friends to sit with so I sat with him and his friend. Every day he would make these weird noises to distract me when we had work time, and one time when we played heads up 7up for some reason he would press down my thumb like he was picking me. And he also would sometimes come to randomly talk to me when I was walking in the hall to my class. We were in the same language arts class, and when we were reading Romeo and Juliet I almost volunteered to read when he was Romeo in the scene where they both die. Every day in class I would stare at him. There were also a couple times when his friends would kind of heckle him about me (Like, "hey there's gretchen"). At lunch, I sat with my friends at a table near him and the way the seating arrangement worked out I was directly facing him every day of lunch so that he was the first thing I saw whenever I looked up. Sometimes he would look away just as I looked over at him.

In 10th grade, we were in the same health class for an entire semester. We are right next to each other in alphabetical order, so we were sitting right next to each other every day. I would always get there before him, and I would listen for his backpack to hit the floor and for the magic to start. I swear, those 3 minutes we talked before class every day were easily the best part of my day. Then we would walk together after class to our next hours, and it always took a little bit because the health room is far away from everything. After that, I'd feel giddy and bubbly and warm, and then I would daydream throughout Spanish. He also sat next to me during the AP World History test (alphabetical order!) and calmed me down. I was like two seconds away from losing it and his calmness just kind of calmed me down. We had been in the same AP class, and in there I should point out that one time I caught his whole table of friends just silently looking over at my table, at me, and usually they just talked about boy stuff or whatever nonstop.

We've had band together since 7th grade, and that's where the other girl comes in. He is really good friends with this other girl. I always see them walking together, and they shared earbuds at a band event one time right in front of me so I had to watch them the whole time. They're in sections that are seated close to each other (she plays alto sax, he plays bass clarinet) while I'm far away (I play flute). And I know that he's known her for a lot longer than he's known me. One time I saw them walking down the hall, and he had his arm around her backpack (sort of like it was resting on it), and I had to look away. Then I heard these girls teasing her about him, and I learned that they had gone out to dinner before. The saddest part is that I'm kind of friends with her, so I don't want to be jealous of her because she's really sweet. But I am.

And I know that every time I get near him, I'm either really hot or blushing. I normally know just what I want to say, but I just kind of say whatever in front of him and end up looking stupid (or at least, I think so). I want to be near him, to learn more about him, but I'm really shy so at the same time I can't talk to him very easily unless he starts talking to me. He has the most gorgeous eyes, and I love his laugh. And sometimes his face turns bright red when he's laughing and talking to me. He's been in my dreams before, and he's kissed me in more than one of them. I really miss him in the summers, and I can't imagine what life would be like without him in my classes.

I don't know what to do about this because I've never had a boyfriend or a date before. A guy held my hand once and asked me out, but I regretted saying yes to him because he was annoying. I broke up with him two weeks later because I liked this other guy I've been talking about this whole time, and not him.

I know this has been a lot to read, but I really need some advice. What do I do? What should I say to him? Should I talk to him? Should I tell him how I feel, and if so how? Or should I just get over him because it

It was one of these types of things http://crazyartideas.com/super-mario-brothers-artworks/
On one of these sites, that show mario in a different light you know. but the picture was of him holding his hat and standing in front of someone like something bad happened. I can't remember much else about the piece but if someone knows the whereabouts of this PLEASE let me know!!

Open Question: Which visual artists have work relating to self-injury/self-harm?

I'd like to find out about artists who have created artwork relating to self-harm, preferably modern or contemporary. I'm not interested in extreme performance or action art involving self-mutilation purely for shock value, but rather artists whose work relates, either directly or indirectly, to the theme of self-injury.

Thank you in advance!
Names of specific artworks would be appreciated too.

Open Question: Any one else in a self similar mold as I am, to be called lazy?

Open Question: Any one else in a self similar mold as I am, to be called lazy?

I'm 24, and I'm male. And my step father calls me lazy. I'm in college, I need to take 2 more maths, I think, and one art history class and I am done with my entire college degree (was going to be bachelors but I'm mastering in art history...I think...lol). Which is fine, I'm in love with art, and don't mind being around it. And studying it , refreshing my memory, would be fun. I had one of the highest grades in my class, and my professor gave me a book on art history as a present, gift. Which was very nice of her. Lovely woman from the UK . I'd like to go there, to find, see that part of her that I've felt , experienced in class. Even if the people aren't any better there , than they are here, I think it would be humorous, delightful to go there and find that part of her .

Anyways, I was working at a grocery store , doing stock , and I did good work, but I was over worked and didn't have perfect form, and I was able to hurt myself pretty severely . I made a few mistakes, and herniated multiple discs .

And have had two months of physical therapy because I hurt myself again, by trying to lift a picnic table I aggravated the injury. People call me lazy for not going out and getting another job, while my therapist says I have the worse hamstring injury she has seen in her entire life...

Not to make excuses, lol, well I am some what. I've only had one job, I'm 24. And my degree i nearly finished. I've almost graduated. And I understand those who care about you, when you get to a certain age, want to prepare you and want to try to force you to consider things on a more adult, responsible level of attention, focus ,than you would expect from a child who sits at home all day .

NONE , well , maybe one or two teachers/ professors in my life, as a exception, have said I was stupid, or un-intelligent. Rather, all too intelligent, far more intelligent than I am. HAHA!

I spend my life running in circles, what's the point!?

LOL , I like to try to figure out science fiction . I'm a artist by profession, I don't make any money, I mean college. Tough world, I know, I'm not afraid to struggle, I work when I have to, but I don't go out of my cozy little home here to prepare myself for when I'll be on my own.

I live with my parents...I do , and no girlfriend either...as a matter of fact women have the same effect on me as jumping in front of a bus would, if I saw one I adored while walking across a busy street...

I love artistic girls or the ones with wild crazy hair. LOL, does that make me sound more immature?
I love to look at nature, I love to go outside bare foot and just take it in, enjoy it. I love animals, I love to camp if I'm not afraid of the moth man cooking marshmallows outside my tent...

Some times you have to get out the tent in the middle of the night to go pee and you have to go into the woods a little...

Anyways, I'm interested in lots of things, that people discourage, and some of my family, such as my father's side, seems to think I'm retarded. Because, I don't socialize well, or have lots to say about politics or my life, or their lives, they seem to think I'm unintelligent, or stupid.

I'm just not that absorbed really, obligated to the same interests , ambitions, goals as they are. I do enjoy the idea of money, but I don't need lots of it to be happy. Just a nice home, perhaps a family some day would be fine. I've grown up spoiled, with more shit than I'll ever truly need.

It's not that I don't care about others, or have a interest in others, I'm just more of a existentialist and philosophical type person, if I too must role play what , who I am, like every one else.

It's not that I'm not willing to contribute anything, but I don't want to stress, burden myself, any more than I have to. I just want to enjoy life, I'm not afraid of working , I just don't want to over work. My mother is successful and all she EVER DOES is work. Her eye lids are put curtains over her eyes when she sleeps, she never turns off!
Her eye lids are but curtains over her eyes when she sleeps, she never turns off!
Thank you AB, that's another thing, I don't always get the idea across clearly. Never the less not every one thinks I'm a moron. LOL

Thank you AB, I'm open to people's opinions, right now I'm actually going up to the college to send out transcripts and work out scheduling classes.
