She end up in hospital and it is there that she dobs her father in. She becomes estranged from both her mother and father.
2) A girl tells her boyfriend the story of how she got her scars. The scars are burn scars from an accident in which hot water was spilled on her by a parent when she was running through the house. She was then placed in the bath (cold water) and her clothes removed by a parent. After that she goes into the hospital and gets treatment for the burn. While in hospital she is unknowingly experimented on by doctors.
3) {I only read a few pages of this book so I don’t know much about it} the characters are: a female telepath and a male human or vampire.
4) A girl gets switched with her twin from another dimension through the internet. She must use the internet to get back but as it is during the past it is very difficult. Set in the 40’s or 50’s.
5) A young girl (14 or 15 yrs) is raped repeatedly by her father or her father's friend. Father / father's friend tickles the girl to begin with to see how far she'd let him touch her. He then forces her to perform oral and vaginal sex with him. When it happens, she pretends to be somewhere else. She was a virgin. At school, in art class; she draws pictures of people with no mouths. Her art teacher is the one who figures it out. The first time it happened she bled and lied to her mother about getting blood on her school uniform - she said it was chocolate ice cream.

She steps off the path and onto a land mine - one or both of her legs are blown off. She is taken to hospital and they fix her up. Once the wound is healed up enough; she is fitted with a prosthetic leg(s) and she learns to walk again. The prosthetic leg hurts her to begin with and she sometimes had to walk with a cane. She eventually goes home. (Somewhere in the Middle East)
9) a young girl is held in a prison camp (maybe in Sydney - Australia). One of the officers (or someone of high rank) likes to rape the girls there. He rapes her repeatedly and gets her pregnant with his child.

She gets into an accident which damages her neck, arms and legs. her twin sister (at home) feels the pain of her sisters wounds and can hear music that is not playing (the music is from the twin sisters car radio). the sister then tracks her sister down and upon finding her - covers her with her jacket. Resolved Question: Israeli-Palestinian conflict: is the argument "Israel is a Jewish homeland" convincing?
"Israel is the Jewish cultural and ancestral homeland."
Christianity originated in the Middle East. Now, the region is majority Muslim. The majority of Scandinavians had folk religions before the arrival of Christianity. Should those Norwegians who follow folk religions be claiming that Scandinavia belongs "more to them" than the Christians?
Israel has had a history of Muslim and Christian presence and control. Sites in Israel are holy to both Islam and Christianity. Judaism is not the only one.
Can one group of people (Jews) really 'claim' Israel for themselves even when Israel has had Christian and Muslim history and influence? Is the argument "we came first" actually relevant? Does the "we came first" DEFINE and shape the history of Israel, or for any nation?
Weren't Pagan religions first even before the arrival of the Abrahamic religions? Then, in this theory, Israel belongs "more" to the Pagans.
I just don't find the argument calling back ancient Israel to a contemporary issue convincing. Israel was formed in 1947. Dealing with the demographics of the time period WHEN modern Israel was formed, I think, is more relevant than invoking ancient Israel.
> In 1947, it is a well established fact that the land that is now modern day Israel was majority Arab (Muslims with a strong minority of Christians) and Jews were a small minority. The point that Arabs were not self-governing and thus "the land really did not belong to them" is ludicrous. The land belongs to the PEOPLE who dwell in it. The land is defined by the people who make up the land. The land is defined by the culture: the food, the arts, the music, etc.
The British also controlled India. So, India really did not "belong" to Indians?
I just don't find this particular argument convincing.
@jeffd_57: I'm not claiming this. I'm only questioning the argument that Israel is exclusively a Jewish homeland and whether or not invoking ancient Israel to a contemporary issue is an accurate thing to do.
